What is the best AI scheduling assistant?
For booking over email without a link, Momo AI (free in early access) or Clara ($80 per month, fully autonomous). For inbound booking pages, Calendly. For protecting focus time and fixing recurring meetings, Reclaim. For suggesting times inside an open email, Gemini in Gmail.
We make Momo AI, so read our placement of it with that in mind. Prices are from each vendor's own pricing page on 11 October 2026 and change often.
Three methods, three kinds of tool
Decide the method first. Most disappointment with scheduling tools comes from buying the wrong method.
- Booking links: you send a page, they pick. Fast for inbound and for people junior to you. Calendly, Reclaim's Scheduling Links, Google Calendar appointment schedules.
- Calendar optimisers: software rearranges your own calendar. Reclaim's focus time, habits and smart meetings.
- Scheduling over email: the assistant proposes times in the thread, reads the reply and books. Momo AI, Clara. The only method that works when a link would land badly.

Best for booking over email with a human check: Momo AI
Say "set up a call with Neha next week". Momo AI checks Google Calendar, emails 2 to 4 free slots in your voice, reads the reply and books a clear pick with a Google Meet link, if the slot is still free. Anything unclear comes back to you. If she never answers, the thread is flagged with a nudge drafted. New meetings wait for your tap by default. The scheduling page has the mechanics, and it also does the rest of your inbox.
Best for fully autonomous email scheduling: Clara
Clara has done scheduling by email for years and does it without asking you. If you want zero involvement and only need scheduling, $80 per month buys that. If you want to see what goes out, you want an alternative with approval.
Best booking link: Calendly
Still the standard. Free for one event type, $10 per seat per month annual on Standard, round-robin on Teams. Great for inbound, and the reason many people want a Calendly alternative without a booking link for the meetings that matter.
Best calendar optimiser: Reclaim
Reclaim does not book external meetings over email, but it protects focus time, places habits and fixes recurring conflicts. From free. It pairs with an email assistant rather than competing with one; see Reclaim alternative.
How to choose
- 1Count last month's meetings by how they were booked. If most were negotiated in email, you want an email scheduler.
- 2Decide who confirms. Autonomous booking saves a tap and risks a wrong slot; approval costs a tap.
- 3Check the calendar it writes to. Google only, or Outlook too.
- 4Check what happens when they don't reply. Most tools stop; the useful ones chase.
