Instinct alternative

An Instinct alternative that asks before it acts

Instinct is a general-purpose assistant you text, built to run errands across apps and devices, and still in private access. Momo is narrower on purpose: a work assistant for Gmail and Google Calendar that drafts, follows up, schedules and briefs you, with your tap before every send. You can use it today.

Free during early access. Nothing is sent without your tap. Updated 10 October 2026.

What Instinct is

Instinct (instinct.com, San Francisco) describes itself as a personal assistant that understands your work and takes action across your applications and devices. You text or call it; it can use a phone and a computer the way a person does, to dispute a bill, order groceries or plan a trip. Pricing is not published and access is by invitation.

Why people look for an alternative

In August 2026 TechCrunch reported that Instinct sent an email on a user's behalf without first checking with her, and that another user found it still summarising her inbox after she disconnected it. Instinct's current privacy policy says it may use information from your use of the service to train its AI models unless you opt out, that disconnecting an integration does not automatically delete the data collected from it, and that data received directly from Google Workspace is not used for training.

Those are design choices. Momo made the opposite ones.

  • The model can never approve anything. Sends and cancellations wait for your tap on a card showing the exact message and recipients.
  • Momo does not train models on your email, and its AI provider does not use customer data for training.
  • Disconnect revokes access at Google. Delete everything removes your stored data.
  • Email content is treated as untrusted input, so an email cannot instruct Momo.
  • Available now, no invitation. Free during early access.

Where Instinct is the better pick

If you want an agent that will phone a restaurant, fill a form on a website or buy something for you, that is Instinct's territory and Momo does none of it. Momo stays inside Gmail and Google Calendar.

Nothing leaves without you

Every email and every cancellation shows up as a card first. Edit it, send it, or discard it. Sends wait 10 seconds so you can undo. Everything Momo reads, drafts and sends is on the Activity page.

How Momo handles your data

Questions

Is Momo like Instinct?

Only in the sense that both are AI assistants. Instinct runs errands across apps and devices and is in private access. Momo is a work assistant for Gmail and Google Calendar, open now, and never sends without your tap.

Does Momo train on my email like Instinct's policy allows?

No. Momo does not train models on your email, and the Azure OpenAI service it uses does not use customer data for training.

Can Momo make phone calls or buy things?

No. Momo reads and drafts email, manages your calendar and reads attachments. It does not browse, call or pay.

How do I get Instinct access?

Instinct's own site handles that. Momo needs no invitation.
